Five requirements, none of them a credit score. This page lists every one of them, what we look at instead, and what to do if the answer turns out to be no.
The bar is deliberately low. Meet these five and you can apply for any of the three Possible Finance loan tiers, from a $200 Starter Loan to a $5,000 Plus Loan.
Nineteen in Alabama and Nebraska, where state law sets the age of majority higher. You will need a valid government-issued photo ID to confirm it — a driver’s licence, state ID card or passport all work.
A state licence is what actually authorises us to write your loan, so this one is not negotiable. Amounts, terms and caps vary by state, and we confirm availability for your address during the application.
In your own name, open around 60 days, with a visible history of regular deposits. This is the account we review instead of your score — savings-only accounts and prepaid cards do not show the cash flow the decision rests on.
Employment, self-employment, benefits, disability and pensions all count equally. What matters is the pattern, not the payer — deposits that arrive on a recognisable rhythm. There is no minimum credit score anywhere in this list.
Used to verify your identity and, just as importantly, to report your on-time payments to all three bureaus so the loan builds history rather than just costing money.
Traditional underwriting asks what your past looks like on a credit file. We ask what your present looks like in a bank account. The two often disagree, and that gap is the whole reason this company exists.
This is why a thin credit file is not a barrier here. Someone who has never held a credit card is invisible to a scoring model but perfectly legible in a checking account, and the second view is the more current of the two.
Four steps, most of them measured in minutes rather than days.
Two minutes, and no hard inquiry. You enter your details, connect your checking account read-only, and see what you would be offered before committing to anything.
An automated review reads the deposit and balance pattern. Most decisions land in minutes; a minority are referred for a person to look at, which adds a business day.
Amount, term, flat fee, monthly payment and APR, all disclosed before you accept. You can model the same figures yourself on the loan calculator beforehand.
Money reaches your account as soon as the next business day. From the first payment onward, on-time repayment is reported to all three bureaus.
A decline is a statement about this month, not about you. Federal law entitles you to know the reason, and you can ask us for it. The FAQ covers what happens next in more detail.
We send an adverse action notice explaining the specific factors. It is worth reading rather than filing — it usually names something concrete and fixable.
Sixty to ninety days of steadier deposits or fewer overdrafts often changes the outcome. Re-applying costs nothing and does not touch your score.
Affordability is assessed against the payment, not the principal. A $600 Starter Loan can clear where $3,000 does not.
If money is urgently short, a loan may not be the right instrument at all. Nonprofit credit counselling, a hardship plan with the biller you owe, or a local assistance programme can be cheaper than any credit product, including ours. Our note on responsible lending lists the cases where we would rather you did not borrow from us.
No. There is no score floor and no hard FICO inquiry when you check your rate. We review the income and banking activity in your checking account instead, which is why a thin or damaged file does not rule you out.
Neither. Possible loans are unsecured and issued in one name. Nothing is pledged against the loan, so there is nothing to repossess if repayment goes wrong.
No. Income is verified from the deposits already visible in your checking account, so there is no call to your workplace and no request for pay stubs in the ordinary case.
Yes. Employment, self-employment, benefits, disability and pension income all count. What matters is that deposits arrive on a recognisable pattern, not the source they come from.
No. It must be a checking account in your own name, open around 60 days, with regular deposits we can review. Prepaid cards and savings-only accounts do not show the cash flow the decision depends on.
It means you are eligible to apply, which is not the same thing. The final decision also weighs affordability, so an application can still be declined if the payment would not comfortably fit your income.
